The Plastic Ono Band was a conceptual super formed by John Lennon and Yoko in 1968, John Lennon began his personal and artistic relationship with Yoko Ono, collaborating on the experimental album Unfinished Music No.1: Two Virgins. After a second volume, Unfinished Music No.2: Life with the Lions appeared in spring 1969, Lennon and Ono decided that all future efforts would be credited to the Plastic Ono Band. His credo: "You are the Plastic Ono Band", implied that everyone was group. In fact, the Plastic Ono Band was an identity to describe works of Lennon and Ono, and whoever was playing with them. Lennon and Ono that both the use of the classification years in their future solo albums. The launch of the single "Give Peace a Chance" in July 1969, recorded in a hotel room in Montreal, Quebec, with many participants, was the first release to bear the credit of Plastic Ono Band.
The only album solely credited to the Plastic Ono Band Live Peace in Toronto 1969, was recorded during the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival Festival in September of that year and highlighted Eric Clapton on guitar, Klaus Voorman on bass (an old friend of Lennon in Germany, notorious for the cover of the Beatles album Revolver), and Alan White on drums. Facing the group, naturally, were Lennon and Ono.
Right after recording, "Cold Turkey," the story of Lennon, to break their brief heroin addiction, was released as a single under the banner of the Plastic Ono Band, again with the Live Peace in Toronto 1969 line-up. In early 1970, Lennon and Ono has begun to add their names to their emissions ( "Instant Karma!" Which comes out as "John Lennon with the Plastic Ono Band ", and their two proper solo debut album: John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band and Yoko Ono / Plastic Ono Band). In 1971 the name was used as a credit secondary, with the names of Lennon and Ono of the most important because of his solo adventures, with occasional variations (eg, "Plastic Ono Nuclear Band, Ufone plastic band, or, when performed with Frank Zappa, "Plastic Ono Mothers").
By 2009, it was found the last use of the Plastic Ono Band in 1975 retrospective release Lennon Shaved Fish. However, recently, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon made an apparence on the label's new album Chimera release music no.0 with the Plastic Ono Band attached to his name for the first time since his 1973 album Feeling the space. He also appeared in The Liquid Room of Tokyo, Japan on 21 January with linup 2009 Chimera other artists. She performed as the Plastic Ono Band.
