Will a better guitar sound better on a cheap amp?

I have a $200 ibanez and want an epiphone les paul standard. Will it sound any better if I play it through a line 6 III amp or a toneport gx? Will it be worth it? Or should I get a new guitar AND a new amp?

A line 6 can support anything. Just gert the new guitar and if you dont like the sound get a pedal. Pedals can make it sound anyway you want and it doesnt rely on the amp. Also the guitar afects the sound more than the amp.
