Center Guitar

Are guitar prices at Guitar Center negotiable?

I was thinking of buying an acoustic at Guitar Center. They have price tags and also prices online. I was wondering though, in store, are you allowed to negotiate prices as you would with a piano or a car?

And if you can, how much should you try to bring it down to? Percent Wise?
How would you start off bargaining?

Like pick up a 500 dollar guitar and say, “I’ll pay 400 for it!” at the place where you pay?

Or how would you go about bargaining?

Yes, the prices are negotiable. I know because I’ve negotiated prices there. The employees are largely paid on commission, so they have to have bargaining room in order to close sales.

So haggle your heart out!! :)

EDIT: Oh, gosh, you asked about percentage, sorry. Um, I don’t really know; there is a limit to how low they can go, and they can’t do anything about the taxes. Start with something ridiculous like 30% off, and work from there.
