WIll buy a drum kit effect my playing the guitar?

I can buy a drum kit today .. I've been playing guitar for 7 years and I'm pretty good at it. Buying a drum kit will not make me worse at guitar right? In answering # 1 .. I live in an old 8-bedroom house in a village and our two neighbors are: A) A friend for life B) Some people also know that practice and have band practice drum kits at home. So their opinion is pretty useless.

pirataviejo is a tool, Go for it! I play drums and classical guitar – Grade 8 in both. The only negative could affect the other is if you spend all your time in one and not the other. But otherwise, saying drums affect your guitaring is like saying that running affect your swimming or drawing affect your writing. In a sense his guitar can even benefit from playing drums in terms of rhythm and time signatures etc. Similarly, his guitaring probably benefit from learning the drums in terms of being "musical" I would go for that
