First Lesson Guitar
what typically goes down in your first guitar lesson?
hey guys, for those of you who take lessons with a private teacher here’s a question. what do you do?
because i’m a complete guitar noob and i’m meeting my teacher this week (for acoustic guitar lessons) and really dead nervous.
i have barely touched the guitar before signing up so feeling dumb is inevitable but i’d just like an idea of what lies ahead. s:
and do you think it’s better if i find an older teacher instead? because uum this guy’s in his twenties, so.. poo, i don’t know if that means anything in terms of behavior and experience and stuff.
tell me if you have any input, thanks!
first guy…
your role is to answer my questions, not ask me new ones. |:
of course i’m devoted, what kind of idiot signs up for classes undevoted?
guitar is not a hard instrument to grasp, literally nor figuratively. K SON??
honestly, an older teacher would be a lot better. if you want to just learn cool riffs and licks young guys usually just teach that but if you want a mature, pro learning experience chances are (CHANCES ARE) that an older guy will be able to teach you the fundamentals effectively (and are more likely to teach you complete songs). it just depends on what you want.
BUT YEAH OTHER THAN THAT, you get positioning and basic technique (picking, left hand etiquette) usually squared away during the first lesson. plus maybe a recap over any tinkering experience you’ve had. it’s like a first date.
so with that in mind, GO GET EMTIGER
