Guitar 3rd String

When playing Hey there Delilah on the guitar do you play the 2nd and 3rd string at the same time?

what’s up with that? I’m just learning how to play and dosen’t it mean when the numbers above eachother you play them at the same time? when I do it dosent sound right. What am I doing wrong???

Yep. When notes line up vertically on a tab, you play them all. Not all unofficial tabs are perfect. You may have to look for the official book at your local music store. However, considering that this tab has over 800 votes for 5 stars, I’d say it’s perfect.

Considering that you are a new player, it is very possible that your guitar is out of tune. Inexpensive guitars rarely stay in tune for more than a few days. There is a tuner on this link, in case you don’t have one.

You just tune each string on your guitar until the frequency/pitch matches exactly with the sound on the website. While the site’s tuner is nice, I’d recommend getting a tuner that clips on the headstock of your guitar. They tune by vibration, not sound, so they are much more reliable than your ear, and cost about $20. They look like this: http://ukulelereview.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/intelli-imt-500-5.jpg

My guess is that you just haven’t tuned it right, and it’s very important that your guitar is in tune, or nothing you play will sound right. If you have any questions about tabs or guitar in general, feel free to E-mail me, and I’ll do my best to help you.

Good luck and peace out,
