If I wanted to get into Berklee College of Music, what kind of stuff should I be doing now?

So I’m a high school sophomore and I would die to go there for music therapy or education. I take guitar and voice lessons, I’m taking a music theory class next year, and I get booked to do local shows all the time. I’ve even opened for Ryan Cabrera. However, I don’t feel like I’m doing enough to get into such an amazing school. Anybody know what else I should be doing? Thanks.

You’re definitely on the right track if you are taking lessons, composing, and performing. In general, just make sure you are as involved in music as you can be, in as many different capacities as possible. You could join a choir at school or in your community, start writing and performing with others as well as solo, teach lessons to younger musicians, volunteer somewhere performing or teaching.

Specifically, make sure you’re well prepared for the audition. Keep in mind that you’ll have to choose between guitar and voice as your principal instrument, so keep up your studies in both but focus on one. Get very comfortable with improvisation, sight-reading, and call and response/ ear training.
