Guitar Power

Can I use a guitar amp head as a power amplifier?
Power amps can be a bit expensive … Is it possible for me to use a powerful guitar amp head as a power amplifier? If you connect on them (guitar, bass, microphones) in a mixer, then plug the mixer into the amp, then run the amplifier in a speaker, it will work? Further, if this configuration is possible, which will also be possible thanks do stereo?!
If your guitar amp has a return "effects loop" or "crossover, in" Jack in it, then I plug the mixer in that. Connect to the normal input is not recommended, as the preamp and tone stack on a guitar amp is not optimal for reproduction full range of signals (such as what is wanting to enlarge). To get stereo, require a second power amp / guitar amp. There is no way around that. Power amps are, as you say "expensive", but are built to have a wide frequency response, and usually have an output power much more than a guitar amp. A 100W guitar amplifier is quite large, but that's a very small PA amplifier. You will not be optimal, but they make noise you. Good luck. Greetings from Austin, TX, Ken
