My wrist hurts when I hold my Acoustic Guitar?

Every-time I play the guitar my thumb has the tendency to move to the middle-ish part of the fingerboard, I don’t know if this is causing it or what, maybe someone could tell me how to hold a guitar properly? I teach myself and I’m fairly new, thanks

the way you hold your guitar is fine. the acoustics neck is wider, so your hand’s muscles aren’t used to it. i had the same problem when i started playing acoustic. just keep playing and the pain will eventually fade. trust me.
