I found reviews for Online Guitar Lessons. Is learning at home effective?

The reviews at http://www.reviewsnest.com/GuitarLessons look good, but – anybody have any experience with learning at home?

Any type of music lesson is going to be only as effective as you make it. If you have the discipline to learn at home, it will work fine. If you don’t have the discipline, don’t bother.

The advantage of having a guitar instructor is that you have someone there to show you what you are doing wrong right away and how to correct it, while if you are just going by something inanimate, it can’t give you that immediate feedback. It can also be someone to encourage you when are doing well.
