Can I join the Michigan State University College of Music with the guitar as my main instrument?

My band director was there and said it must choose one of the tools at the hearing and based on the study. However, I saw nothing in place, including some guitar. I prefer to make the classical guitar or jazz, as in all my other instruments, the only reference on the web is tenor sax, which do not come close to my level of skill on the guitar.

I found the information Jazz Guitar contact the teacher (who have a set of jazz there, so I only assume that they have jazz guitarist studying there, or at least go to school there, even in another major, and playing on the whole). You can email him or the school principal or dean music and ask if it's possible for a music education major with his main instrument as the guitar. For music education, which can probably make this happen because will focus much of their time learning how to teach and play all the other instruments. You will have to choose if you prefer to go the "Coral" route or "Instrumental" (band / orchestra) route.
