I was so impressed by Dead Sara last performance at the Whiskey a Go Go, which I thought was going to take it again. (Could it be true? Is it the next Dead Sara jewel Los Angeles?)
So I went to the Knitting Factory, Saturday, February 3rd, 2007, but did not arrive until 10:00 pm. Several people said they liked me the band that just played his afternoon shift, but I can not attest to much else myself. Catches in MySpace, if you're interested.
First band up after my arrival, amnesty (you can hear on MySpace under Connor Ragan if you're interested.) seem to have a good number of fans in the audience. (They were sold out.) At first I was displeased. Good music, but singer does not need a few vocal lessons, though he had a good stage presence, and communicated to his audience too. But after about 3 songs I started getting a little bored and anxious. The songs were not different voices were not good. These Kids can have potential but need a little more practice. His MySpace music is much better than this live show was, even though MySpace is evident the singer needs to get some kind of vocal training.
Your return decent but a little boring after a while; Orchestra: decent Vocal: a key soon, (it sounds better on MySpace), Creativity: OK, but after a while individual songs did not make clear impression on me. Public Report: good. They seemed to have plenty of fans, and the public was paying attention while playing. The final analysis. Improved voice would really help this band. However, in all fairness, the singer complained that the sound technician through a whole that I could not hear himself. (But in all fairness, Dead Sara complained that too, but his voice still shaken.)
Second up: SARA DEAD (you can hear on MySpace, if you're interested.) What can I say. Dead Sara Shaken again! The crowded room, even when people are Dead Sara took the stage. (Other performance exhaust, but it seemed like people Additional were hidden in the room, it was really crowded.) and the public has yet energized and more excited as Dead Sara began. They did a set similar to Whiskey is made. They opened with the song of the two Member States (reminiscent of the White Stripes), created and finished with four songs (including "Innuendo" and "Momma Told Me" on MySpace), with a guest bassist and drummer (his MySpace page still says bassist and drummer necessary).
Yield: Great again! These girls (Emily and Siouxsie) of rock is alive, love music and do not appear to have that extra quality that most the other shows that I lack – these girls are going to be stars – just shows. Orchestra: Okay. Siouxsie rocked back on guitar and drums. Vocal: Excellent! Once again the best voices in the night. Great voice and Emily can both scream and sing! (This is not the same style, but remember the voice of Janis Joplin capacity shouting and singing.) Creativity: Tops! Good mix of songs and styles. Nothing boring. Public Report. Great! They were totally in tune with the crowd and then is heard no more than good comments from the mouth of all. Final Analysis: Like I said last time, keep your eyes on these girls. They are going places.
Third up: HALL endless. (They can also be found on MySpace). Good rocking music. But his voice was a little weak (better on MySpace) and the personality of the stage was even weaker. It does not really communicate to the audience at all. But very good music. He had a good size, after there and like Dead Sara and amnesties that were depleted (better to live on MySpace.) Creativity: Well, not much variation in style, but not less good. Do not be boring. Public Report. None. Does not seem to think it is important to communicate to the audience, so it did not. However, he seemed to have many fans there and the fans liked. Final analysis. It's worth seeing. About especially if you like Good Rockin 'music.
As for me, I was there primarily to see Dead Sara. After seeing them at the type of whiskey I consider a rare find – a diamond in the rough. And apparently I'm not the only one. While writing here at my keyboard this Sunday morning, I'm dead to hear rumors that Sarah was approached by record executives last night to be "wowed" and want to sign it.
Eh! Guys – I found first!
So I guess I'll have to track these children down and do an interview before they are too big and famous to remember me.
Sounds as a plan.
