What is the best store of new and used electric guitars in New York?

I'll be in New York next month and want to pick up a guitar new or second hand electric (probably Fender Tele or Start). I'm looking for the best. I hear there are some good shops around 48th Street?

Hello, my favorite is Sam Ash at 159 West 48th Street between 6th & 7th Ave, which is a 5 minute walk from Times Square. They have a variety of defenses, you can ask to try any of them, only that in the nearest amplifier plug and go. There is another shop directly across the street too, but I can not think of the name (not to be missed though). I would avoid Guitar Center in the town since it is a bit too generic, like a guitar supermarkets. We hope you find what you're looking for. BTW, when you say you are looking for the best shop meant better or best guitarists guitar because I would say STRATS Fender and television are far from the best – sorry . forgot to mention that Sam Ash has a website www.samashmusic.com
